I am a mirror-touch Synesthete, and I see the world a little different. I am also a mom (fur and non-fur), busy corporate software executive, doctorate student, anti-animal cruelty advocate, music obsessed, lover of fashion, passionate traveler, lover of vegan meals and people that are courageous enough for the deep conversations.

 

​I also taste colors, hear music in inanimate objects, see geometric shapes with some sounds and have a crippling fear of just coming in below perfection. Other than that, all is good.  For every perceived curse, there is a blessing, and my blessing is the comfort I find in beauty. It is a reprieve from the noise inside this busy thinking mind of mine.

 

The moment I hear a beautiful song or see an intriguing piece of art my synesthesia subsides. In architecture, I love subtle materials, concrete is one such material. Louis Kahn said concrete has a memory you can feel given by removing the formwork it was poured into. With fashion, the first time I saw Grace Kelly she became my North Star a benchmark for simplicity of beauty and elegance.

 

In music, deep, soulful lyrics have saved me often. Words are a constant source of beauty and meaning in my life and Poetry has changed how I read the world and define love.  ​This revival of my blog will be my journey to achieving my doctorate in Depth Psychology with an emphasis on Jungian archetypes. ​Beauty is my refuge.

 

My hope is to create this one space for all things beautiful more specifically, this is for Mia and Mazy the most beautiful human beings I know, they have taught me to live out loud unapologetically – is there anything more beautiful than that?
